Local Priorities Road Safety Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road Safety, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

In the last two weeks, local PCSOs has seized a quad bike, two bikes and a van for no insurance with the assistance of traffic officers. The quad bike caught the attention of PCSOs due to the speed it was driving which promoted checks to be completed, revealing no insurance. The first bike was an illegal pit bike, with no number plate displayed, driving recklessly up and down on a pavement, with no insurance, tax or MOT, the second bike was a suron style bike, displaying no number plate, after further investigation CCTV revealed the bike being ridden illegally, and today a van was seized for no insurance and further reported for the condition of the two front tyres.

We are determined to keep our roads safe and these four seizures were all spotted whilst PCSOs were on their proactive patrols. If you witness any illegal use of quads, bikes or vehicles we strongly advise you to report this to us.
